Haus Labs The Edge Long-Lasting Shaping Lip Liner | Finally, some nuanced nude lip liners!
Haus Labs recently released their first lip liners, and they’re honestly fantastic. This particular formula is one of the longwear styles that have a creamier consistency in a plastic-type, non-twist-up packaging. These can often fall victim to issues such as being overly creamy, impossible to sharpen, etc.
I’m so happy to share that these do not! They’re creamy while still having some grip so that they’re not difficult to control and don’t deposit too much pigment but also don’t skip. Additionally, they give you a few seconds to blend or correct before fully setting down and wearing for a reasonably long time throughout the day. I’ve also had no difficulty sharpening them, making it really easy to get back to a sharper point either after a few uses of lining or after filling in your lips.
On top of the wonderful formula, the other standout feature is the shades. I was hopeful but skeptical when I saw the promo photos, very curious as to whether these would actually be the tones shown or if we were just yet again getting catfished by way of Photoshop.
These are gorgeous. Part of me is genuinely questioning whether this creative team is the only mainstream one that has tried to develop lip liners for actually matching natural lip tones (vs. simply outlining)? Indie brands have been filling the gaps left by mainstream ones for a long time, and as someone who really loves a good lip liner, I personally find it exciting to finally see this type of product be more accessible, especially in such a nice formula.
The shades shown here (especially ones like Shady Linen) have already become staples in my collection, so I can’t recommend these more if you’re searching for this type of formula, particularly if you’ve always found liners too saturated to look natural.
