Fara Homidi Essential Blonzer | It is no secret at this point that the Essential Bronzer in Bois became an immediate staple in many fair-skinned folks’ makeup bags, so I had high expectations for this product as well.
The Essential Blonzer has the same formula as the Essential Bronzer but comes in pinkier shades, giving that sun-kissed (but not burnt!) effect. I’m not one to bury the lead nor do I have intentions of starting now – it’s beautiful.

This formula is a very creamy, hydrated powder with a more matte base but a generous dose of mica for luminosity as well. It applies incredibly smoothly and gives a liveliness to the cheeks that makes it hard to distinguish where the product lies vs. where your skin begins.
The one caveat I have is that I recommend not building it up too much. Because it does that have that slightly thicker creaminess, two things can happen: 1) Product can start to bunch on itself and slightly collect in pores and/or 2) The concentration of mica can start to have that silvery sheen. However, if you choose the right depth for your skintone such that a light-medium application is maintained, these are easily avoided.
As for this shade, it comes across on me personally as a surprisingly natural, healthy flush of color. Really quick, unfussy, and effortless to apply but imparts both the right tone and luminosity that reads as though you’re well-hydrated, well-rested, and slightly toasted.

Fara’s brand is also known for its seriously luxurious packaging. The compacts are paperweight-heavy, sturdy, and custom. I had an extra compact from a prior bronzer and therefore purchased only the refill (saving $36!), which I was pleased to find has a legitimate housing that you actually can use on its own. The last photo shows the transition of refill to compact, including how the refill slots into the initials on the base of the compact for security (as opposed to glue or magnets).

This type of easy, honed in experience is what you buy into from a makeup artist such as Fara Homidi, and I’m forever happy to see more of her creations. Let me know of any other comparisons you’d like to see!
