Cheeryep Freeze-Dried Blush | These seem to be gaining new traction after promos showing larger pans with color-coordinated packaging, so it feels like a good time to share the ones I have!
Firstly, I’ve tried a few of Cheeryep’s powder formulas now, and they’re some of the most impressive I’ve used.
The best way I can describe this formula is the stiffest baked blush you can think of but not at all in a negative way. Rather, it provides a “selectively” pigmented product, where the tool you use – synthetic brush, natural bristle brush, puff, etc. – dictates how much is picked up at a time. However, you can genuinely use any tool vs. needing a dedicated one (as can happen with similar formulas) because it’s agreeable with all of them. It’s also very evenly pigmented, resulting in the type of pickup where you don’t have to evenly (and overly) coat your brush and then swirl/knock off excess to get an even application on your face – it happens from the start no matter how little you begin with.
Once applied, these are so SMOOTH – no grabbing, bunching, etc. to fuss with. They also have the most lovely satin finish, giving a beautiful luminosity without accentuating anything you’d wish not to. In my humble opinion, satin finishes are wildly underrated *when done right,* and these most certainly have been. While stunning in person, it’s also almost like giving your skin the best chance for the camera to not do you wrong 🤭

For the packaging, I decided to pick up the brand’s specific palette due to the unique magnet placement on the pans, and I would recommend you to do the same if also buying in this format (vs. the single compacts). I have tried these in a regular magnetic palette and found that they slid around too much to be truly secure. However, I’d also recommend the silver because of the transparent back that allows you to immediately see the shade without having to take it out!

I’ve purchased Cheeryep (or QianYan as it is listed on some sites) through YesStyle and LookHealthyStore, though YesStyle tends to have the best prices. Let me know if you’re aware of good alternatives! Have you tried this brand?
