Unearthly Cosmetics Hardware Collection 🩶 Sometimes a collection hits so straight to the core, it feels like it was made for you. As soon as I saw this reveal, my heart sang.
Grungy, alternative color schemes are Unearthly’s bread and butter, so it’s no surprise that these tones are perfection, but what I’m also really impressed by are the textures and formulas.
The Menacing Metal Liquid Eyeshadow seems to be a new formula for them, and WOW. The component is quite small, but the impact and reflection demonstrate why. It’s the definition of a little goes a LONG way, and trust that it will hold its own over the course of the day – you will need a good makeup remover.
The remaining formulas are existing in the line, though this is my first time experiencing most of them and can’t wait to try them further. The Satin Sorcery Liquid Lipstick is very pigmented but smooth. The Menacing Cream Lipstick is also pigmented and similarly smooth but more buildable. The Ghoul Glaze Lip Gloss and Menacing Metal Lipstick are naturally more sheer, and while you could wear the metal lipstick on its own, I find it shines more (pun not intended but welcomed) when used as a topper.
I could wear any of these tones any day of the week and feel so at home. I don’t know that I recall the last time that happened with any given collection, so I really have to hand the brand their flowers here!
One other thing I wanted to touch on is the overall impression. Having ordered from Unearthly previously and not having the best experience, I was hesitant (as I know many others are) to try again. I had been paying close attention to email updates about hiring more staff and doing less preorders, and decided to risk it one more time. I must tell you that despite this also being a preorder, the improvements are measurable. I got a shipping notification ~1 month after placing the preorder and received them about ~1 week after that, which was within the timeframe stated. While communication could still be improved, the transparency and adherence to timelines has instilled more confidence in the event of future orders.
