RMS Beauty ReDimension Daily Glow Palette | I should have known this would be a banger from the second it was announced.
This quad contains four luminizing shades in the incredible Gel2Powder formula, which is effectively a baked gelée. They’re incredibly smooth to the touch (feeling identically to my full-size RMS blushes), to the point that it almost feels like a cream-to-powder with the very slight “squish” it has when pressing your finger firmly against the formula.
All of the shades have a slight marbling effect but are pretty accurate to the descriptions. RSVP is a very light ivory shade; Date Night is a cool light pink; Happy Hour is a warm champagne; and OOO is a medium bronze.
Confession time: I initially had no intentions of getting this palette because if you’ve been around the makeup block for as long as I have, you do not need another highlighter. However, I was watching @babsbeauty_’s latest video, and she mentioned that while the design is reminiscent of the beautiful Dior Backstage Glow Maximizer Face Palette, it’s a less intense formula and therefore might be more suitable for those with fairer skin tones – which is exactly what caught my attention.
As much as the original Dior quad was (and still is) raved about, I never picked it up because it was simply too intense for me, making three of the four colors unusable unless mixing.
I’m SO happy to say that I can actually use three of the four shades as a highlighter without any cast! The champagne would be skirting the edge if it was more opaque, but the sheer (i.e. minimal base) pigment of these makes them more versatile. I can envision OOO as an eyeshadow or even a light bronzer topper for a luminous finish.
While I haven’t yet had the chance to try these on my face, I wanted to get these swatches up as soon as possible with how many people were interested. I can tell from the texture and my prior experience with RMS powders that these have that kind of silky gossamer finish. It’s not so much that you will never see a shimmer particle but rather that they’re so fine and evenly dispersed they’ll give you that glistening effect that can be built up into a stronger highlight. Super excited to keep playing!
The packaging is also A+. It comes in this beautiful faceted, pearly white compact that is thinner than their typical compacts (~75% of the thickness), and while the pans are smaller, they’re still plenty big to isolate shades. I’d love to see this idea expand to interchangeable full-size blush pans or even mini sizes of the existing range (though I don’t think any of us would turn down more shades in this gorgeous formula either).
