Nabla Cosmetics Cupid’s Arrow Shine | These are the metallic sister to Cupid’s Arrow.

Everything I mentioned about the Cupid’s Arrow applies here as well, so if you haven’t checked out that post yet, I highly recommend doing so first! In short, these are infallible multi-use liners that can be applied to different parts of the face, including eyes and lips. They can be applied for a smudged look or with more precision due to its versatile tip, but once set, they are going nowhere until you intentionally remove them.

I first tried the Cupid’s Arrow Shine via a holiday set purchased during Nabla’s Black Friday sale last year, which in my opinion is the best time to try the brand or stock up, as they have some incredible deals. I was admittedly initially skeptical considering the typical pitfalls of “metallic” liners: Either they’re really just shiny with sparkle, or they’re unable to be applied evenly – and with the worst offenders, both are true. However, these immediately proved that they were different – as many Nabla products do.

While there is of course some shimmer in the formula, it’s an incredibly smooth and even application. I don’t really see individual shimmer particles on the eyes but rather just shine (as they were so aptly named).

Because of this smoothness, you can also swipe these across your entire lid to serve as an eyeshadow. Normally this would lead to a really unflattering effect with a metallic liner, as they can have a tendency to become thick and look almost scaly with this type of application – but once again, Nabla proves their prowess with perfecting formulas. Some shades lend themselves more to getting a similar effect as with powder eyeshadow, such as Silvermoon and Bronzy, but the others still get pretty close and they’re all beautiful.

The photo and video below have lighting from only one side so that you can see how these liners look both when they are directly hitting the light and when they’re in shadow.

The only difference in packaging between these and the Cupid’s Arrow is that the Shine formula has a smooth, more glossy component to reflect the finish inside.
