Nabla Cosmetics Beyond Blurry Lipstick | Continuing with the shade expansions of Nabla’s lipstick formulas! Check my prior post for details on the Beyond Jelly Lipstick.
The Beyond Blurry formula is similar to the Beyond Jelly formula in terms of how even and buildable they are. The pigment level is like that of a tinted balm to start but can easily build to ~medium coverage color.
Unlike the Beyond Jelly though, these are a soft matte finish – it definitely isn’t a flat matte but instead almost velvety. This same finish is what offers a really beautiful blurring effect, softening and minimizing lip lines, all without ever grabbing onto dryness. They glide effortlessly with no resistance and overall make your lips look softer and more healthy. They’re also incredibly lightweight, being the kind of formula that you literally forget you’re wearing.

The same comments I made about the Beyond Jelly packaging still applies here. The only differences are that the component color from the core line selection is light pink (vs. black) and that the outer component shows the soft matte finish (vs. glossy). All other facets are the same, including the solid feel of the bullet, attention to detail, and inclusion of tactile ridges that both look beautiful and make it easier to grip.

I first discovered this type of formula with the Nars Soft Matte Tinted Lip Balm (which was sadly discontinued only a couple of years later), so I’m beyond happy that we’re starting to see a lot more options, both in coverage and color. I first tried Nabla’s iteration with the @mrdanielmakeup collab and am thrilled they’ve expanded it to include more nuanced shades that they have a special gift for creating.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried these and what you think of them!
