Beaubble + Rudi Berry Bitten Juice Lip Stain | If you’re looking for a lip stain, look no further because this one may have bested them all.
The Bitten Juice Lip Stain was initially released a couple of years ago, with a shade expansion becoming available last month. As soon as I saw the lightest tones especially (and as a lip liner lover), I knew these would be coming home to me. So many lip stains are just too deep against my skin tone to look remotely natural, and I correctly trusted that these would be one of the few exceptions.
I picked up Rose Milk (a soft muted pink), Toasted Sugar (a neutral muted beige), and Cherry Cola (a deep wine with brown undertones), with Rose Milk and Toasted Sugar being two of the new shades. Toasted Sugar is undeniably my favorite shade because it gives such seamless, natural definition to my lips when blended (although this is my formal plea to add a light grayish taupe contour shade next!).
The formula is very buildable, which really allows you to get the look you want without ever being overwhelming. Each swatch has three rows, showing how they layer from 1 swipe to 3. The longevity is also commendable!
Besides the formula + shades, what enables such a great experience is the product’s build itself. The component is quite comfortable to hold and weighted in a way that’s very balanced in the hand. The applicator is made of actual bristles (vs. felt), much like a calligraphy-style pen, and however the liquid is designed to flow through the pen has been done immaculately – it never floods or skips. The extremely precise tip enables you to be very sharp where wanted, while the broader side allows you to easily spread it across your lips to fill in or diffuse – all with no bleeding.
This is what happens when people who sincerely love beauty and foster genuine engagement with their audience are involved with product development – a truly unique, differentiated result instead of just contributing to the same conversation. Impeccable, stunning, no notes, 10/10. So glad it’s been added to the line by community demand and to have finally tried it!
Side note: For the shade expansion, the new lip stain shades are also available in a bundle with GLYF glosses. Prior to this launch, I had no idea GLYF was also a Beaubble-incubated brand (with South Korea’s Jeon Somi)! As someone who’s been into Asian beauty for quite some time, I actually own a few of the Glue Glosses (as well as the Hue Spread Sticks) and really do enjoy the formula and shades, so you can’t go wrong with either the lip stain alone or the bundle – though it will be more difficult to obtain the GLYF glosses through other avenues if you’re interested in them!
PS: If you were curious how difficult it was to make evenly pigmented, relatively straight lines with a tint… especially layering them… the answer is VERY 💀
