Devinah Cosmetics – Halo Moon Collection Review

Today’s post is especially exciting for me because it will the first time featuring indie brand eyeshadows, which is a hole I fell down long ago and don’t regret in the slightest. I strongly believe that indie brands just offer something uniquely special that larger brands either can’t or won’t. Either way, I’m more than happy to support smaller businesses who are rocking what they do and to simultaneously have sparkly eyelids while sharing about them.

All that said, today’s focus will be on Devinah Cosmetics! I have nothing but good things to say about this brand. I’ve never had anything come broken; their shipping is pretty dang fast, especially for a small business; and the quality of their products is impeccable. Each new release excites me just as much (if not more than!) the last, which leads us to the Halo Moon collection.

This is the brand’s most recent release, and the collection contains iridescent multichromes (i.e. shifting sparkly shades that are more sheer in formula). I purchased the bundle, which retails for $102 but was launched at the sale price of $78 (and you can still grab them as a preorder for this price!). The individual shades retail for $17 but were launched at the sale price of $13. Additionally, you are able to use discount codes, so while special shades like multichromes are pricier, Devinah’s tend to be the least expensive I’ve found once you combine all of those savings. Like other collections, the bundle does not given an additional discount compared to purchasing all of the individual shadows but rather facilitates ease of purchase if you’re interested in all of them. And spoiler alert: you probably will be once you see these babies, so… let’s take a look!

FORMULA

They definitely do have some texture to them – if you’re familiar with the brand’s other collections, they’re probably in between the Sugar Drops and Xploders in that respect. These shadows and the others they carry in similar finishes work so well as toppers and for inner corner highlights. Since they’re on the softer side, they’re very easy to pick up with either your finger or a flat shader brush and then pat onto your lid. As with all formulas like this, I recommend using a glitter primer underneath in order to really grab the textured particles and prevent fallout throughout the day.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you couldn’t tell from the intro, I absolutely love Devinah Cosmetics and would highly recommend this indie brand for any of their shadows, but especially if you’re looking for some really special shadows to add more dimension, texture, and interest to your eye looks. They’re the kind you can keep in close reach because they’ll amp up any look and always look different depending on what you’re putting them over.

Side note: Devinah is currently running a Halo Moon Challenge, where you pair one of the the shades within this collection with a black base in your look. It’s a really fun way for the brand to engage with their customers/fans for this release!
