Lisa Eldridge Liquid Silk Eyeshadow | The absolute perfect counterpart to Liquid Lurex.
Remember when I mentioned in my last post that liquid eyeshadows are notorious for being difficult? That applies even more to matte liquid shadows, and of course it would be Lisa Eldridge to revolutionize this type of formula and change that experience.
Similarly to Liquid Lurex, Liquid Silk can either be sheered out or built up without developing a textured or dehydrated appearance. On the contrary, these are genuinely so flattering at any opacity level and are almost blurring, which at least in my experience is unheard of in this medium. The smooth and even finish, alongside the lightweight but longwearing effect, make them the perfect eye base either for a standalone color or beneath other shadows. This includes Liquid Lurex, which is another feat in itself – layering different formulas is another situation in which liquid shadows can quickly go wrong, and these never do.
The formula is a little more liquidy than the Liquid Lurex but is still very easy to control and actually allows the product to go even a touch further in comparison. One small swipe on each eye before blending, and you’re good to go.

These have also been released in some of the most nuanced shades. From the original release, I picked up Ione, which is described as a cool mauve beige and which allowed me to get familiar with the formula. That being said, as soon as the shade extension was announced this year, I grabbed Paige, Silvia, and Maude. Paige especially is so perfect as an everyday base for my coloring (or for giving a subtle, feature-softening effect) because of how light and muted it is, while Silvia is fantastic for when I want a little more sculpting.
I can’t rave about them more. When Lisa sets out to add a product to her line, my experience is that her aim is to not just make it a great crowd-pleaser but actually to devise the *perfect* product for so many, and these are no exception. If every liquid matte has done you wrong in the past, give these a try – you might just change your mind.
