Chantecaille Real Bronze

Chantecaille Real Bronze | Chantecaille recently updated their bronzer line and updated both the packaging and the tones. Let’s get into it!

The formula of this bronzer is described as “an ultralight creamy gel-powder,” and I do think that’s pretty accurate. It feels like a very thin powder upon picking it up but immediately transforms to feeling like nothing at all. The pan appears to have a slight shimmer, but it’s so incredibly fine that this doesn’t show on the face at all; rather, it just gives you this healthy-looking, soft radiance to the skin.

The brand calls the shade Soleil “a cool-toned soft cocoa bronze,” and while it is cooler than a lot of bronzers on the market, I wouldn’t objectively describe it as cool. Looking at the pan alone can be a little deceiving, as the tone still carries a decent amount of warmth. It is a really lovely shade that I can use lightly to get a more natural, sun-kissed appearance that looks pretty native to my skintone.

Sirena (“a soft golden bronze”) is one that I had purchased several years ago, but as you can certainly tell, not one that I’ve ever been able to get much use out of due to its much warmer tone. I thought it would still be helpful to compare since these are the current two offerings.

On that note… it’s really not acceptable in my opinion that we are still talking about TWO shades! TWO. With both being ones that someone of my (lack of) depth can use due to the buildable formula. We really should not have to still be advocating for adequate shade ranges, especially when it means gatekeeping such a beautiful formula.

Regarding the packaging, I honestly don’t feel a difference between them – they are the same weight, wavy/pebble shape, and click closure mechanism – but I do significantly favor the new soft metallic bronze over the previous red. It’s very chic and a nice bit of luxury otherwise in your daily routine. Some may wish for a weightier compact, but I don’t mind it being lighter in hand in combination with the other details.

The Chantecaille sale might be over, but if you’re interested, these are currently available on the Dermstore site where you can get the same 25% discount through August 13!
