Nabla Cosmetics Matte Pleasure Lipstick | The last of my Nabla lippies to share, and their only lip formula I hadn’t yet tried!

The Matte Pleasure formula applies just as smoothly and evenly as the other two formulas (Beyond Jelly & Beyond Blurry), but as you can gather from the name, is a full-on matte lipstick.

However, while they are completely matte, they almost have the reverse capability of Beyond Blurry, meaning they start quite full pigment but can be sheered out (vs. Beyond Blurry which has buildable pigment). I find that this is an especially good quality to have when creating a blend between a lip liner and the lipstick itself.

Additionally, these have a slight smoothing quality that isn’t often found in matte lipsticks from my experience. I wouldn’t describe it as anything substantial and you will still want to prep your lips appropriately, but even when I haven’t, this formula has yet to accentuate or grab onto dryness – including the lighter shades! And while I wouldn’t ever describe a matte lipstick as hydrating, it does actually surprise me that it doesn’t specifically dehydrate them either.

These have about the same wear time I’ve come to expect from a matte lipstick, though an impressive differentiator is that they wear away very evenly and without smudging or bleeding.

The packaging also has some differences compared to the other two formulas. Firstly, it is shorter, having the height of a typical lipstick bullet. The plastic used in the component is also slightly thinner than that of the Beyond formulas. These two aspects make it feel just a bit less – and I do mean a bit- substantial in comparison. However, it is still sturdy, still has the ridged design, and still has a solid closure.

I primarily picked up shades in this formula that I didn’t feel were available in Beyond Blurry, and I’m very glad to have selected the ones I did. In general, I think I’d still choose Beyond Blurry first because it has a little more flexibility with finish, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use these either, especially for these special tones.

Overall, another hit lip product from Nabla!
