Red Chamber Haruki Multi-Purpose Cream. Apparently Red Chamber is having a moment? And I’m so happy to have an excuse to share these gems!
While I’ve been purchasing from Asian beauty brands for several years now, Red Chamber is one of the first brands I encountered that showed just how much the people are looking for nuance! They offer such particular, nuanced, and sometimes even grungy shades that I wish were more commonplace. While I think everyone can find someone to love here, I especially recommend for muted skin tones.
As these are multi-use, you can technically use them in different areas of your face. I primarily use them as blush/cheek color but have put them on my lips as well. They’re a pretty traditional cream blush formula, where the stiff cream in the pan slowly melts and becomes a spreadable balm with the warmth of your skin. Once applied, they set down to a natural finish without tackiness on the cheeks. If there are any differences in the finish, I find it’s usually differentiated within the product listing and also evident in the product photos (for instance, “Dust Breath” is from specifically a matte collection).
The other thing I think is worth noting is that these compacts are much smaller than standard, receiving typically 1.5g of product. I personally don’t mind it because it means I can try more shades, but it of course also means that the cost/g increases.
